Our B Corp Certification

At Lusana, we have always believed that fashion can create dignified work, celebrate handcraft, and tread lightly in impact. That is why we have built our business around small-batch, made-to-order collections, rooted in a hyperlocal supply chain and lasting partnerships. We exist to prove that beautiful garments can also provide fair livelihoods, while leaving a smaller footprint.

We are proud that our ongoing efforts have been recognised through B Corp Certification, first awarded in 2022. Earlier this year, Lusana successfully achieved recertification, with a significant improvement in our overall B Impact Score—from 105.4 to an impressive 134.2. This places Lusana as one of the highest scoring businesses in Southeast Asia, reflecting our continuous commitment to purpose-driven business and deep responsibility toward our customers and community.

Overall B Impact Score 2025

Starting at the business model
Our approach begins with the business model, and in growth measured in value, not volume. “Scaling for the sake of scale is not our strategy,” explains Quinn Lovett, Chief Executive Officer of Lusana. “Because we are self-financed, we can decide how much is enough. Capping our units lets us protect quality, pay fairly, and provide our small-scale suppliers with dignified work.”

“Our collections start with people and place,” adds Emma-Lee Lovett, Creative Director of Lusana. “By committing to small batches at a measured pace, we preserve hand skills, reduce waste, and deliver pieces our customers keep and wear. Containing growth is a creative choice as much as it is an ethical one.”

What does B Corp measure?

B Corp Certification recognises companies that have been independently verified to meet high standards of social and environmental impact across Governance, Workers, Community, Environment, and Customers.

All B Corps are required to recertify every three years—a process that encourages accountability and continued reflection on our broader civic responsibilities as a fashion brand.

The Five Areas of Impact

Governance
Governance measures a company’s leadership and ethics. At Lusana, our decision-making processes are underpinned by our purpose and stakeholder consideration clause. We are a family-run and majority woman-owned business that produces entirely to order, in opposition to fashion brands fueled by overproduction.

Workers
Our team is small, agile and diverse. We provide both on-the-job training and broader life skills support to ensure our workplace is one where all feel equipped, included, and able to thrive regardless of circumstance or experience.

Community
Community is the lifeforce that makes our business possible – from our hyperlocal supply chain within 50 km of our production hub in Bali, to our loyal customers around the world. Since we first began, we have forged collaborative partnerships with small-scale suppliers, supporting them through advances, premiums, and skill transfer initiatives.

Environment
The fashion industry is at constant odds with its environmental impact. As an independent business, we do our best to control what we can: using natural fibres, non-toxic dyes and processes that are environmentally preferred, while producing only to order to minimize any waste.

Customers
Lusana only exists because what we make holds value for our customers. We take this responsibility seriously, protecting your privacy and learning from your feedback to improve the quality and relevance of our products.
