While these pieces are silk-screen dyed, the way in which the cotton is grown adheres strictly to organic methods.
Natural materials are fibres derived from plants and trees. LUSANA screens materials based on their growth cycle, whether they are native to where they are grown and if the species is local to LUSANA’s production hub of Indonesia. All of LUSANA’s accessories are derived from native Indonesian palms. In order to offer an assortment of fabrications, LUSANA also chooses to work with key imported materials to offer elevated pieces. Natural materials are biodegradable.
LUSANA's base materials are predominantly natural however certain fixtures, finishings and sewing threads originate from synthetic origins.
Traceability is a relatively new concept in the fashion industry whereby via block chain technology, materials are able to be traced back to their original source. LUSANA offers traceable Rayon which ensures that LUSANA’s Rayon garments are not sourced from illegally sourced wood or old growth forests.
Locally sourced materials originate from Indonesia. LUSANA's accessories items are created from locally sourced natural materials. A localized supply chain reduces transportation emissions involved within the makings of a product. Furthermore, designing with local materials in mind and utilizing traditional forms of making is a key approach to our creations.
